i don''t know if there are any tech people but i will ask any way. i had an xbox360 and it got "rrod" so i sent it back and they sent me a brand new one. my old one used the 90nm and took 203 watts of power. my new one uses the new 65 nm and uses 170 watts of power. i still have the power cord from my 2003 watt system will that matter on the lower power one?

does the power cord have a converter built into it. box type thingy. or is it basically just a cord that plugs into the xbox.

Yep, everything will still work fine.

It only draws the power it needs, your power brick will run cooler than it used to.
