I just searched the forum for four hours and I''ve already done everything I have found that should fix the problem noise.  I need help before I go insane!  Its a 2000 X Blazer that has a popping, thud type of noise when I hit certain bumps.  The noise is really bad on dirt roads with washboard erosion and seems to be in the front end.  So far I have replaced the tires, control arm bushings, axles, upper control arm bushings, lower ball joints, rotors, motor mounts, and the shocks(twice).  I have also adjusted the Z-rod / torsion bars and checked the cross member.  I have beat, tugged, and pried on every suspension part.  I checked the hood hinges. Everything seems tight.  The freaking noise is still there.  Someone either help diagnose the problem or shoot me.  I am loosing my mind over this!

How did you check the hood hinges?

Also, grab a hold of the shock and give it a shake.  I had to really tighten the crap out of the upper shock bolt on my front shocks when I replaced them.  They rattled like worn ball joints.

Mine has a knocking driver''''s side sway bar bushing!  It''''s because the power steering lines leaked and the hydraulic fluid ate it up - along with the lower shield(Skid Plate.)  It was quite the "snowball" effect.

Speed bumps really set it off!

To check the hood hinges I placed a couple of old rags to give some added pressure and the popping was still there.  I grabbed the shocks and even used a pry bar, but they don''t move.  Theres not a whole lot less to replace.  I''m sick of the noise and tired of wasting money.  Got my first Blazer in 85'' and have owned one ever since.  I like it and dont want to get rid of the car.  I have other cars, but this just seems to be my favorite toy.
