i have a 2001 2DR 2WD blazer. i just got my 22" Boss 304 rims. the tires are 255/30. i was told that the rims backspacing is 5.81" and my blazer is supposed to be 4.5". is this true? if it is, then how do i fix this? and how low can i drop it with and without fixing the backspacing problem?

thanks
steven

You would need to get around 1.5" thick spacers for all four wheels if you wanted to get back to close to stock placement.  To get exactly to stock back spacing, you will need 1.31" spacers.

What you really need is to center the rim like the originals.  The original rims were 4.5" back spacing and 7" wide.  I''m betting that your 22s are wider than 7".  Probably around 8-9" wide if I had to guess.  So there is more to consider than just back spacing when you are trying to place the wheel properly in the wheel well.

I would bolt them up first and see how well they fit.  How much larger is the outside diameter of the tires you are using than your stock tires?

All of these things will affect how low you can go with your truck.
