hello gentelmen, im new and hope to get some help from you guys. i bought a 2001 chevy blazer Zr2 w/ 71000k on it and it runs good but lack a little power but, it''s a great running truck.
the problem:
i know i have a coolant leak behind the engine bay by the passenger side near a/c, i looked under the truck and it''s dripping by the top of the trans and around the starter. when i bought the z, the coolant is already green, so i presumed that the intake gasket has been replace cause a 19yold kid owned it and daddy bought it for him. i asked, and he don''t know. there are no sign of coolant leak around the intake area, or front or driver side. i check the coolant all the time and it''s not even low.
my question:
do you guys have any idea what the leak is or it''s already the intake gasket im looking at to replace?
how do you know if someone has replace the gasket before me?
any answer would really be nice and thank''s for taking the time to read this.
AWESOME SITE!!!!!!

Sounds like you do have an intake manifold leak from your description.  There is really no way to tell if the gasket has been changed out or not unless it was done very recently.  It really isn''t that hard of a job to replace it, just time consuming in that you have to remove so much stuff just to get to the manifold.  If you do it yourself make sure you get a high quality gasket and not the cheapest ones you can find.

Nice truck. I like the black flares on the white.
