I have a 1999 4.3 liter 4wd. Starts great, but when I back it out of the garage and put it in drive, I give it alittle accellerater and it bogs down for a few seconds as if it''s getting no gas. After that it picks back up and is fine. It usually won''t do this anymore that day I can start it - take off, and it''s fine. Any ideas ?

What have you done to try to correct this?  I would start by cleaning the EGR valve (replace the gasket with an aftermarket gasket which has a screen on the inlet side) as well as clean the MAF sensor.  Either of these things, when dirty, can cause an off idle bog.  I''d bet that the MAF sensor is the cause of your problem.

I hate to be a pest but what is the best way to clean it ? ( I''m so dumb)

I hope you see this post "swartlkk"! Thanks a million for the tip on cleaning my maf sensor. I did it over the week end and it seems to have fixed the problem. Once again - a BIG THANK YOU!
