Hi, I,m new to the forum and new to working on watercooled engines so go easy on me k?
I have built only one vw aircooled motor, but my daughters 2000 blazer w/4.3 blew a rod bearing.
I was wondering if there is a book, dvd, or website with step by step instructions detailing the overhaul of the 4.3l engine specifically.
All I have found is sbc manuals, or are they ok too?

Let me know, and thanks.

The 4.3L is just a 5.7L (350cid) v8 with two less cylinders.  Just about everything will apply to the 4.3L that you have for the SBC.  If you need some specifics as far as bore and/or journal diameters, just ask away.

I am not aware of any books specific to the rebuild of the 4.3L outside of the Factory Service Manuals from Helm, Inc.  But they are quite expensive unless you find a used set off of eBay.  Every one of the FSMs I have had from Helm do a great job describing the work and dimensions required for a motor rebuild along with everything you need to know about the vehicle!
