Does anyone know of a free program that will transfer all of my songs from my iPod to my PC? I''ve been going through the hidden files on the iPod to transfer the songs and it is just taking too long, not to mention some of the songs I have to type the name, artist, etc. So if anyone knows of a good free program that would be awesome. I don''t think I should pay the $20-$40 to buy a program for one time use.

I used to use Copypod to get my buddy''s music...but apparently it''s not called copytrans.  http://www.copytrans.net/copytrans.php

And the idea of these are not for one time use.  If you all you want is a backup, you can export your iTunes media library as a special iTunes backup-type file.  Then if you lose your drive, you can just download a new iTunes, and import that file you have safely backed up.   Somethin like copytrans would be for continual backup of the ipod, or a more convienient way of sharing music.

if you still have access to your buddies computer hook up your ipod and enable you disk use through itunes. then go to my computer open up your ipod under removeable devices and save all his songs in there. its like a gient flash drive. then when you plug it into your computer go to my computer and click your ipod which will be under removeable devices and just drag all them songs to your music file.
