I have a 95 blazer with the CPI set-up on it. I know the injection unit has been replaced once and at $300 a shot I don''t want to replace it again. What would be involved in converting to the 96 and up TBI set-up? I know the upper and lower intake, throtle body, engine computer and harness but what else?

Thanks,

Paul

A lot more than what it is worth.  The 96+ is an SCFI motor which has sequential injection with the six injectors vs. a single batch fired injector that the CPI motor has.  The problem is that you would have to swap out the PCM and work out the rest of the electronics in the truck...  And then you would have to swap over the whole top end of your motor, heads and all if I remember correctly.

So I am better off dealing with the CPI set-up or is there another option?

The best thing for the CPI motors is to upgrade the FPR with the kit from Lindertech.com and then use Chevron Techron Fuel System Treatment plus at every oil change to clean the injectors.
