no offense to those with honda's but if its gotta be an import u can't mess with a nissan. i had a 99 nissan maxima that i built and every turbo honda in the world thought they could stand a chance it was too funny but now they want to race my blaze and i look at them and say are u serious ur kidding right they always make me laugh

hondas are quick when they hit vtech in the top end as stated before. my buddy has a 99 civic si with your usaul aftermarket parts(intake header exhaust lighter clutch and flywheel plugs wires ignition) but my 93 t-bird with (plugs wires fuel rail fuel pump) use to keep up with him no problem until he hit vtech, then he was able to pull in front.  but yeah a v8 built right will have no prob running against a import that has everything done. even though the import is really light.

i dunno guys.....after driving the 07 santa fe, im not to impressed by the 4.3. The hyundai is quick! but never the less, a hyundai.

although the 4.3 sounds 100% better

I'm not saying I know it all, because I don't, not even close, but some of these posts are starting to bug me a little from their ignorance... All i'm gonna say is, there are nice imports, and to think 4 cylinders are junk blah blah blah typical domestic lover responses is just plain ignorant.

True, that's just the way it is now, it used to be if you drive a Ford the other 2 domestics are "junk" and vicesa-versa for the moment it still is with pickups.  But now with cars it seems to have changed to domestics or imports, It's just a preference thing I guess.  I personally love the reliability, sound, power, ease of finding parts, cheap parts and simplistic design of a good old PUSH-ROD Chevy V8 when I think of performance.

Yeah I surf www.streetfire.net sometimes and it's amazing what people argue about there... A chevy get's slapped by a honda and there's either an argument on how the chevy wasn't even racing, or the honda had a turbo, and the chevy was n/a... blah blah blah... I'm just kind of fed up with this domestic vs import thing...

The fun posts are when people start saying how pushrods are outdated technology...

When OHC was built first, lol

V6 wise, the best sounding one I've heard is the TDOHC... 4 camshafts baby! If only that thing would've had VVT! lol

Yea the import vs Domestic arguement is like beating a dead horse. Most of these honda's that are out there are mostly stock Sohc vehicles with fart can exhausts. All these kids think they are fast and try to race everybody even tho they don't even now know how race. Granted street racing is illegal. (had to throw that out there). It makes me laugh when I read about how people with 4.3L Blazers that are heavy beating on honda's. Now I'm not taking sides because I can care less but I used to have 94 Civic Hatchback with a built 95 GSR motor (b18c1) and I used to slaughter 4.3L s10's (xtremes) and vr6 volkswagens. Granted that my honda was light and worked. So keep this in mind when you say you beat a honda, chances are you beat a stock sohc motor with a child who doesnt know how to drive his car. I give alot of respect to these honda's because a person can take a DOHC motor a get some crazy power of it if done correct. And now with the K serious motors I've seen kids at the track with stock K20 motors in a 95 hatch doing low 12's. But now that I have a Blazer I would never go back to a import. My next project is going to be either a NOVA or if I can find a LS1 trans am. I want something with torque this time. lol..

omg please dont tell me a hyundai is better then a GM......... stock bottom ends are only good for like 250whp........ weakest POS on he planet.

the 4.3L is a strong little motor. im kinda the poster child for its strength. i sprayed 500+ lbs of a 100shot of nitrous through mine, now its turbo'd and sees 10psi daily.... going to 13psi as soon as my meth kit comes in.

from what i have seen- DOMESTIC = Quickest(E.T.)       IMPORTS = FASTEST (mph) its kinda hard to compete with the topend of the imports..... 700+ whp civics and CRX's that weigh 2300lbs will RIDE OUT. then you got the 1200+whp supras roaming all over the states......... 1000+ whp Evo's, 700+whp STI's, 600+whp 350z's are all very potent cars..... then the FD RX7's and such........ the make there  power very very lofty.........

this goes for the average street guys no the guys who are out to set world records.

but roll racing is the imports specialty.

That's generally because the gigantic turbos that they use take forever to spool, lol.

I think I'll go turbo hunting... lol
