It's possible that it's still EGR valve. Before you replace it again, if that's the problem, I would suggest getting one of those screens first, because a lot of the time the valve is just dirty, and if you get a screen for like $30, it's way cheaper than a new EGR valve that is still fine but just needs to be cleaned. It might have a crack somewhere in the manifold too...mine's like that right now and it sound similar to what yours seems to be sounding like. Is it auto or standard? If it's auto and it's shifting kinda strange as well, you might need to change your tranny fluid.

it could be as simple as a tune up. fouled plugs would have the same effect. how amny miles are on it?

Ya, that's true. You might need to put some new plugs and wires in. I always think big at first, but zero's probably right that it's as simple as a tune up.

yah it sounds like you need a tune-up. If that dont work then you can always go to the bigger stuff like the EGR valve and so on.

im not sure what year your truck is, but if it has a MAF sensor, try unplugging the wires from it. if it smoothes out the idle a little bit then you need a new sensor. but it may not have one. it could also be a vacum leak. do you hear a hissing at all? try squirting a little carb cleaner around the intake manifold and vacum lines. if the idle changes, then you got a vacum leak. do you have a check engine light on?

well it's fixed...my dad took the fuel filter off and blew air threw it and he put it back on and it ran fine....thinking maybe something was in there blocking it or it had water inside maybe?

If that fixed it then I would definitely get a new one to put on as soon as possible.
The filters are cheap enough. and it is quite possible that, by blowing air through the filter, the filter media has been compromised (ie torn by either the air or debris that was inside the filter).
