Welcome to the club! I am the same way. I was the first person in my town to own an avenger (only made from 95-00)...now you see them all over the place. I got rid of it, got my 01 Blazer Xtreme. Again, I was the first person in town to own one. Now, there is a few but not too many though (thank God). Post some pics. It's nice to know that there is another Blazer Xtreme in here 'sides me.

Thanx, 01xtreme. I liked the Avenger, that was a nice car. Actually, I used to work at Dodge and I came real close to buying one myself. My friend used to have one. But like you said, before you know it, everyone's got one and you no longer feel like modding it and making it "unique." I hate that. As for the X Blazers, you don't see 'em to often. I still get some looks and questions about it even three years later, it's nice to get compliments. Anyway, mine is not too modded. It's black with graphite interior. Pretty much, I have a K&N drilled air box, all emblems are painted black except the bowtie on the tailgate is silver, pinstriping removed (it was gold, ) gold bowties on the centercaps are painted black. My theme is all black. I was gonna go with red emblems and all that, but there are too many people that do black/red color theme. So I decided to go Darth Vader. Even my windows are black. All windows tinted double limo. Windshield is tinted 30%. Cop meter reads 1% when they check my windows . Anyway, money has been tight these last few years (coincidently, since we put another Bush into office) and I haven't really had the money to mod my Blazer like I planned when I bought it. But things are looking better and I should be able to get back to buying accesories for it soon. Also, my truck in FILTHY! I haven't been able to wash or wax it in a few months thanks to, let's see...Bonnie, Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne. I used to wash it once a week and wax it every 3 or 4 months. Thumbnail Image

Are you going to get black out tail lights, turns, and headlights too? How in the hell did you get your windshield tinted like that without the cops reading it? I found a carbon fiber grille bow tie on ebay. I don't really know about the quality though. Mine is black with graphite interior too. I'm going to go with a billet/chrome, silver, black theme. I know that there are a few people out there who have it done BUT....the idea in my head will make it look really cool and unique...not really like everyone else's. I always seem to try to do stuff no one has even though about. I was thinking about putting some Z3 fenders (yeah, they're ricey and everyone has them) on since I haven't seen a blazer/S10 with them...but I'm not quite for sure. Part of says that it'll look cool but the other says no. My interior is going to be expensive to do. That's going to be the kicker that makes my wallet empty. The engine will have to wait til the rest of my baby gets done. Then I'll start thinking about engine swapping.

I have all the blackouts for all the lights already. I put them on for about a week and had to take them off. I loved the way the truck looked with them but they make the taillights too dark and I don't want anyone to rearend me. I love this truck too much for anything to happen to it. It's my first car that I was able to option out exactly the way I wanted it instead of having to settle with something that was on the lot. Plus, with a tinted windshield, it's damn near impossible to drive at night with blackouts on. And removing them only at night gets old real quick. They don't make blackouts for foglights, so the front end looks weird with black everything and bright white fogs. The cops did ticket me already for the tinted windshield and for the double limo windows, 3 times. It's only a $46 ticket and there's no points for it, but get more than one and your wallet starts to drain fast. Plus the hassle of going in and paying it takes away from work time so it's not really worth it. I'm planning on getting the doors retinted. In Florida, the back windows can be as dark as you want, so I'm leaving them alone. The windshield is not supposed to be tinted at all but I'm leaving that alone, too. It helps a lot in daytime driving and can almost not even tell it's tinted at night as long as you don't tint darker than 30%. But the front two side windows I plan to lighten them up a little. Maybe limo instead of double-limo . I think the billet/chrome, silver, black theme is awesome. Yea, it is used a little, but your truck would look great like that! I would definately do that to mine, but I already have the whole Darth Vader thing going, so... The interior, I have black heavy-duty rubber floor mats. I want to get white face gauges with either red or blue backlights, polished aluminum pedals and carbon fiber dash panel trim. That's it. The engine, I already outlined all the lettering in silver and I already have a K&N, but I want a free flow open air induction system with a K&N cone, headers and dual exhaust. The exterior, I have blacked out emblems, silver bowtie in back, black bowtie on center caps and black S-10 SS door handles. All I want now is clear front turn signals and a new lower front airdam (I ran over a construction cone and it cracked right under the front "Xtreme Blazer" license plate). I'm pretty much a stock guy because you get more money if you ever decide to sell. I don't want to seel my Xtreme, but if I'm ever forced to (financial problems, etc.) then I know it will be worth more. What is it your wanna do to your interior that costs so much?

Also, do you know how to paint the back side of the rearview mirrors? And with what kind of paint? I hate the grainy black mirrors, they fade and if you put stuff on to shine them up, the stuff runs down the door when it rains and it looks like crap! I want them to be smooth black, without getting aftermarkets. I kinda like the big bulky mirrors (don't ask, I just think they are a huge improvement over the crappy pre-99 mirrors). Thanx.

Believe it or not...I was thinking about getting the Xtreme logo stitched on the headrest too. But I decided against it though. If you want to paint the mirrors yourself...then you'll probably have to take them off, sand like hell and apply lots of paint. When I get my X repainted I'm getting the mirrirs, door handles, rear hatch release painted too. I'm still going to keep it black but I'm going to put on a Pearl coat to give it that extra shine and add some silver ghost flames. As for the rewrapping, I'm just going to get everything done at one shot. Take it to a pro and have them do it. My automatic shifter boot is starting to come undone a little bit where it meets the console (no big deal and can't even tell). My exterior is going to have a billet bow tie, billet grille, 'course the 18" rims and low profiles, goodmark Generation II steel cowl hood and that's about it for now. You're the first and only person I've told about my ideas for my ride. I just don't want anyone to rip off my ideas instead of coming up with their own. But it sounds like you have your ride all planned out though.

oh...I did find a site that has the embroidered floor mats with the Xtreme logo. www.usspeedonline.com They're expensive but you're talking to a guy who's gonna spend $130 on diamond plate floor mats!

Cool, thanx. I will definately get a set of those. I like the third option they have...2 front mats, 1 long mat for the back seats and 1 cargo mat, all embroidered with the "Xtreme" logo for $225. I've been looking for those for a while. I was looking at the headrests tonight and I think they are too small to put the "Xtreme" logo on it. Oh well. Unless it goes just below the headrest part. I want it on that empty space on the door panels, though. I like your ghost flame idea. I don't see those too often. Last time I saw those it was about 6 years ago on a '96 Impala SS. Badass! Don't worry, I won't copy. But I feel the same way you do. For the longest time after I got my Blazer, I wouldn't post any ideas of mine at all for fear of someone stealing the idea and then I won't be "unique" anymore. But like you, I try to come up with my own things and go with that. If I like someones idea a whole lot, I may do it but I'll alter it somehow to make it different. You gotta "come original" - 311. I was actually thinking about the rear release button too and the rear bumper pads. I hate that grainy plastic junk. If it doesn't fade first, you accidentally get wax on it and you're screwed. For the door handles though, just go to the dealer or a junkyard and yank a set off of a black '97 S-10 SS. They are not grainy. They are smooth shiney black. That's what I did. It's easier that way than painting them. You can steal that idea if you want, lol. But to make mine unique, I pulled out the lock cylinders and painted them black too. With my remote keyless entry, I never even touch them. I just thought it was unsightly to have this all black truck with nice shiney black S-10 SS door handles and then have this bright silver hole there.

If I find an idea that I like either from other members or magazines, I'll incorporate it into my idea. You're not really copying unless you do exactly what they do. Otherwise, you just got an idea from someone who thought of something that you didn't. I figured that you might like those mats. I think that I'll just go get the door handles painted. There isn't too many junkyards around here let alone anything worth looking at. At one point I was just thinking about putting the Xtreme logo on the front mats and the Xtreme "X" on the rear and cargo mats. How about putting the Xtreme "X" on your headrests? It's a thought that crossed my mind but I decided against it. No, I'm not worried about you taking any of my ideas but like you said someone stealing it so your idea is no longer unique. That's why I try to be as creative as possible.

got any pics of those door handles? I might try the dealer if they don't rape my wallet. Can you believe it, I need a new driver side fog light and they want $87 for the thing!!!

True. Yes, after I realized the "Xtreme" would be too long for the headrests, I did think about just putting the "X" there. That would still be sweet. Either that or I'll get "Xtreme" put just below the headrest. Thanks again for that floormat site. I like those. I love my rubber heavy-duty mats cause I can just hose them down when they get dirty, but I think the embroidered ones will make the truck look more "sporty" and neat.

That's pretty much the same with the diamond plate mats....just hose 'em off and call it good. I'm going to get some deep threaded rubber ones for winter though.
