if you're lookin for a h/u under 130 bucks, you don't need to be installing anything in your car. do what most normal people do, save your money and buy a good one. oh, and you're not worried about your h/u not putting out the whole 200 watts? psht. buddy, do you have your door speakers and your dash speakers hooked up to an amp? no, i don't think so. i doubt you've got that high-tech yet. oh, and this one was for jon

spare me the insults, i'm as well versed in car audio as the next guy. but honestly, i drive a Blazer, nothing special. i'm not lookin to enter a competition, just to turn a few heads. if this had been my 02 Monte Carlo SS or my 83 Caprice Classic Brougham, i would take it serious, but it's not. I'm not gonna ever get a comment from a chick about how nice my blazer looks or sounds, so i really don't try that hard. i know all HU's aren't created equal, we all know that Kenwood are the best alongside Pioneer and Alpine, but with that in my car, it's sure to be stolen within a month or two, so it's pointless to put that much money into it. i'm being frugal because honestly, a blazer isn't the car of my dreams. i just wanted an opinion about what would sound good, have those options, and wouldn't require me to SAVE UP....if there's any hope of me gettin a new Camaro or Challenger, then i'll do the saving. But seriously people, how many of you have chicks that would do you because of your hot Blazer?!?!? lol i'm gonna do the rims, crank my system up, run the vinyl on it, and maybe switch the headlights, just for kicks. you can count on me not entering mine into competition of any kind, its just a blazer. anybody know anything about Power Acoustik stuff? they have a 1200 watt amp for 200, which sounds like an unbelieveable price. what about the subs? are they good?

Lol actually I've had girls like me for the blazer. dont know if they wanted to do me though

but power acoustic tends to over rate there products. i had a A1800DB rated at 1400@1 ohm but it really puts out around 1100 if that.

seriously... if your relying on your "RIDE" to get you "CHICKS" that is sad...... if you can only get a girl due to the looks of your car, she probably isn't a good one...lol and I have had girls comment on my blazer....lol of course where i'm from a nice lookin 4x4 is more valued than a lowrider... (no offense xblazer...lol) so..... normally girls who get with guys for their cars...lol they have probably been driven around the block a few times. . (the girls...lol) and remeber, if you go "swimming" with them... PLEASE double up on your "RAINCOAT"!!!! hahahahaha always remeber that we do not live in the movie the fast and the furious and there isnt a large group of groupie b*tches just wanting to jump ur bones because of ur PIMP RIDE..... yo....

Ok, what the heck does getting chicks with your ride have to do with the original question? Back on topic please.

ok, everybody missed the point of that statement about the girl thing. point is, i live in Atlanta, 4x4's dont get any love amongst my type, lowriders either, neither do tuners. Big wheels, loud pipes. loud systems, glossy paint, chrome, vert tops, TV's, and leather guts win here. So on that note, i can only attain the big wheels, loud system, and TV's. anything more would look "Mexican", no offense Latin people, but ya'll do tend to go overboard, lol. and as far as the Power Acoustiks, i was thinkin of gettin a 1200 watt amp for $200, and gettin some subs from them too. they might not be great, but they have to sound better that my Insignia(best buy brand), not that they aren't sounding great. just wanna upgrade. i'm just used to JL's and subs like those, so i'm kinda green when it comes to flea market types. sorry

JL Sucks.

If your spending 200 bucks on an amp lemme link ya to this.
http://www.realmofexcursion.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/66_67/products_id/197

It's alittle more BUT it will actually put that 1200 out unlike the power acoustik

With power acoustik they tend to over rate there stuff hardcore but that amp will make u more than happy

And once again. JL Sucks

news....a friend happened to havea HU that was acting a little weird (yeah, it was a Sony)that he wanted to get rid of. He owed me, so he gave it free. its a CDXM800 CD player. it had everything i wanted in a CD player, problem is, the inside display (it has two displays) doesn't work, and the controls act a little weird. But it still was better than the factory HU i had. Already had a harness, so i put it in. And what else??? I put in my TV in, DVD player, CD HU, and my Ipod, which runs to the back of my HU and i control, and i connected it all myself. Its just temporary, unless i can get the HU repaired. Its way louder now, and i can control my subs, plus it has som'n to compensate for my door speakers being so low in the car, which helps. On top of it all, i can watch a movie and listen, or just listen to my music....play my ipod instead of CD's and either use my DVD player for music or the HU. i love options! Gotta get the ipod car charger and the mount, then i'm good. I'm happy with the bootleg setup, i'll post pics soon, after i get the ipod mounted properly!!!

I have JL 12w6v2's, 5.25 csi comps, and 6w0s. Haven't installed or heard any of them, but I know JL is good sht. I didn't buy any of it new though because it's hella expensive local. Got it from either ebay or car audio forums. It's all like new condition. I wish I knew what it all sounded like so I could comment on it. Won't be anytime soon either. :(

they're finally here, pictures of what my blazer now looks like after the install. got everything done, it isn't amazing, but it works for me. (oh yeah, after i got everything put in the way i wanted it, the HU stopped workin all together, well it plays CD's but i can't control any functions. i'm thinkin if i had the remote, i could. we'll see. might have to pull at all back out, DVD player and TV too, that sucks!)

It's kind of ironic that you asked what people thought, and everyone gave their honest opinions on Sony and you got very defensive. Then you got a free broken Sony, that has further broken even more. Just gave me a chuckle. Anyway, good luck with the system, looks clean.
