Oh not much.. Just a COMPLETE removal of the dash... Mine is an older model, it was difficult enough, I've had the pleasure of being around many blazers. Oh, I'd imagine the newer ones are much more involved. Yours is an '04 with heater core troubles already? Is your vehicle under warranty? Heater core swap is definitely something I'd rather a grunt do.

Anyone know if its the same on a 91 Bravada? or is the Dash different? Mine is leaking. its small leak now but radiator hoses need to be done too. What does everyone do about the heater hose that has the one end crimped to the piece of steel line? cut it and slide the hose over? or something else.

generally speaking, pull out the under dash plastics on the passenger side, pull the heater core cover, and yank the old one out. i think i also had to unbolt the dash itself (one bolt under the bottom corner) on the passenger side and pull it back a few inches for clearance.
its just a hassle because the screws arent all easily accessable/seen. you have to pull the stereo out as well as the glovebox to get at all the heater core cover screws.
IIRC. i think it took me a few hours to do it.

Yup, a 1st gen is a 1st gen. You should be able to follow along with what KFC_or_Bust posted on the previous page.

You guys kill me that won't buy a $20 chiltons, hell you can get them off ebay for under $10 shipped if you look. You can go to autozone.com, enter in your trucks info, then look at the repair info. Its about the same as whats in a haynes book (which sucks) but its free.

I have a chilton and a haynes and a subscription to ALLDATADIY for the truck but they all tell you you haev to remove the dash and then don't get specific on how to do that. I come here for advice from guys who have already done it and found short cuts to make it easier, because frankly I'd rather be driving it than spending extra time doing something the hard way. I've also heard it said a wise man learns from others mistakes.

I did not remove the dash.... I just pulled the plastic cover inside the truck, pulled the screws that hold the straps in place, yanked the HC, assembly was reverse of removal. Took about 2 hours or so.
