Hey, we're replacing the exhaust system on our new to us 1986 K5 Blazer (has a smallblock 350). Any input would help!

Any particular direction you would like to go with it?  Dual exhaust?  Sound?

I would start with a good set of headers (1-5/8" primaries).  From there, I have found that 2.25" pipe works great for stock to slightly modded 350s.  If your current exhaust has catalytic converters, please do replace them.  The aftermarket high flow units won't cost you much in means of power to run them and the potential fall out from being turned in to the EPA will cost you $$$.  From there, go through a good cross over (I prefer an X-pipe), and continue out through a set of good mufflers (depends on what sound you are looking for), and on out the back (or side).

Any exhaust shop worth their salt should be able to put it together in an afternoon.  You could start with a kit from Flowmaster or various other places that have a bunch of mandrel bent tubing that can be customized for pretty much anything.

Good luck!
