What are the best of the following:

Subwoofers:
-Alpine
-Kicker
-Pioneer
-MTX
-Infinity
-Rockford

Amps:
-Hifonics
-MTX
-Kicker
-Kenwood
-Alpine

I was also thinking about going with a 3 sub box. Would this work if I bought 3 of these amps and used one sub? Would this change my ohm ratio...

bro, it allll depends on which one you choose. if you want lots of power, a kicker sub and a hifonics amp is kick ass. if you just want something that'l give you a little bump in tha trunk, then rf and kicker amps will hook you up right.

Alpies will scream if installed right.  MTX subs are good, just can't handle lots of power.  not a fan of either of the P Series Fosgate subs, just not really well built.  The SPL pioneers are great.  The Infinitys aren't too bad, pay a little too much for the name ( like in Sony TV's)

Amps, Hifonics are great bang for the buck.  MTX underrated amps, put out pretty good power, not the cleanest.Kicker amps are really expensive, but great power.  Alpine amps have nice features and RMS is usually dead on.

Kenwood amps are vastly over-rated IMO, but chap.

Not a big fan of doing three sub setups, the ohms get a lil tricky.

im guessing those are the R's with the HAMR surround?
brutus took over the hercules line? how come they still sell the herc?
they're the same amps, just more power?

hmmmm subs.

rockford. If it has a P infront. F that.
Kicker.... depends on which model. Take into account that the Square woofers have bad suspension problems and toast easily. I'd suggest a CVX
Alpine.... Hype R's woooo
MTX....... Unless its a 9500 series. no
Infinity.. Nope
Pioneer. If its like the TS3000SPL (or wutever) then maybe

Amps:
Hifonics One of the ebst bang for the buck amps out there. Although the BX/BXI series have been burning up alot faster lately I've noticed
MTX Definetly not
Kicker Expensive but true reliable power. I wouldnt get it unless it was a 2500.1  (2 ohm stable)
Kenwood lawl no
Alpine baaahhhh Nope

I'd do 2 hype R's on a hifonics herc (if u can find it still) Thats the only R setup I've ever liked. Well that and TCAB's 1 12" on a 2500D @ .5

ya, these guys are all about the louder the better. dosent have to be ear drum shattering loud to sound good.

it all depends what YOU want your music to sound like......
also on what type of music you listen to. everyones giving you options on personal preference, which is all they really can do, you just gotta go listen and see what sounds best to you.......

although the "hype" R's on the herc would be a good bang to buck ratio. it will be LOUD, prepare to upgrade speakers, speaker amp and deadning, wiring, and possibly battery/alternator, if you see fit.

Well I want to go with a hifonics bxi 1606d I think it is with 2 kicker cvx 12" subs. I just dont want to have to upgrade wiring through the car for speakers and have to get a capacitor or upgrade alt. Will this be an issue?

well, don't get a capacitor. they're worthless IMO. I'd go with the excessive amperage alt's.

yea def. forget about the cap....you can upgrade to a 200-250 amp alt. and you'll be set.  caps can actually cause more harm the help to ur electrical system.

here you go. this is one i found on ebay. it's a 180 amp ohio generator alternator. comes with a voltage regulator, and i think it's a pretty sweet deal.

you wont HAVE to have an upgraded alt, but it definatly helps. if you really want Xblazer01 made a thread to calculate how many amps your pulling, im sure you'd be fine with just the 1606.

get dual 4 ohm CVX's and wire it down to 1 ohm on the amp and get all 1600 watts

Will the 4ohm cvx's be able to handle it at 1 ohm and the way it will be wired?

yes they will deffinitely handle it, they could probably take a little more too. i've got around 650w on each of my cvr's and i know they can take more.

Also, you really don't have to upgrade your alt. it wouldn't hurt but it's not crucial. I'd recommend maybe adding a second battery in the back i.e. a stinger, optima etc. that will help keep a more stable voltage especially at night..
