From what I have been told there isnt any difference. Of course there is a difference between the blazers as the years progressed with them: ie. 92 compared to a 98

Name wise, I have just been told that they stoped using the name s10 for the blazers in one of the years...I may be wrong.

Well, I have a '99. I'm trying to sell it and one of the people who was interested in it asked if it was an S10. I didn't really know, but he said he didn't want it if it was an S10. So I'm assuming there is some difference, or this guys just dumb.

GM dropped S10 from the s-series blazer in '95 after the fullsize 2dr blazer was added to the tahoe line.  Your '99 is still an s-series vehicle, but just doesn't include the S10 in its name.

My 2000 is an s10 because its the smaller type blazer. I think the "Blazer" may refer to the old like k5 blazers?

In 1995, the full size Blazer was re-named Tahoe and the smaller version became the Blazer. No "S", no "S-10", no modifiers - just a Blazer.

The nomenclature is sometimes used by ignorant or careless people to describe Blazers after this name change, but it's a sloppy way to distinguish between the two. There was NO full size Blazer and no "S-10 Blazer" after 1995. After that date, there is a Tahoe and a Blazer.

all correct, except the s-10 pick-ups still lived on with very similar if not the same design, interiors engines, tranies, emissions, etc. i know till 2001 at least. and we cant forget the fully loaded s-10 zr5 which was around in 2002

The Chevy Blazer has been in production since the late '60s. When people think of the Chevy Blazer they typicaly think of the fullzise version. In the 80's GM came out with the S10-Blazer. Similar to the fullsize brother. In '95 GM droped the fullsize version and started calling them Tahoes. At the same time GM also dropped the S10 signification on the mid-sized Blaszers. Hence leading to the confusion. I will always refer to them as the "Blazer" and "S10-Blazer", hence reducing the odds of misunderstandings.

Just for a little more worthless info.
They Blazers and S10-Blazers used to be classified as Carry-Alls.

I was in the dealer yesterday trying to get an O ring that the other suppliers didn't stock. I asked him for a 2000 Blazer 4x4, then he said, is that a full size or an S-10??  I told him there was only one size.  "The nomenclature is sometimes used by ignorant or careless people" - ya got that right.

Stopped at a sandwich shop a couple of weeks ago for my wife's B-day. I parked in back of a "Blazer" that looked EXACTLY like mine except for that it was red in color and it said "TrailBlazer" on the tailgate and the lower panel of the two side doors. I have seen other "TrailBlazers" that look to be the same but a longer wheelbase too....
So can anyone explain any of this?

The 'Trailblazer' edition was a trim level on the S-series Blazer before the release of the Trailblazer named SUV.  Came standard with Auto4wd, two-tone, embroidered leather on the seats and door panels, heated seats/memory seats (i'm sure there are more)...

This must have been repainted as it was solid Red. I noticed that the wheels had a bit of a different look to them also.

That two-tone was with the leather interior.  I don't think they were offered with two-tone exterior paint.  And yeah, I like the rims they put on them, real muscular looking.  I don't know if I would want them on my own vehicle just because I like being able to see my rotors and calipers.  LOL

Like Swart said. The first year of hte TrailBlazer was a rebadged S10-Blazer with options.

My 2000 Envoy is the top of the line trim level for the Jimmy. Well there was the Diamond edition too, but I like to think mine is better.

The 99-01 Trailblazers were the top of the line trim levels for the Blazer.

Once it stops raining here in MI, I will take some pics of it. I love this damn thing. And the confusion of GM on the names.
