the higher you go, the easier it will be to roll, the ZR2 also has a wider stance, right?

The ZR2 has a 4" wider track, which means the front and rear axles themselves are 4" wider than a stock S10.  The tires are a bit wider too, but not all that much.  This is a good picture to illustrate the difference in wheel track between a non-zr2 blazer and a zr2.  The black blazer has 32x11.50's on it, while the ZR2 has 31x10.5's:
