Need opinions on which color to go with on these Halo projector and bumper lights:

1. Chrome

2. Black

Let me know which one you like best before I buy them tonight. Thanks everyone! I like them both, but I want the ones that are better suited to the looks of the truck and I cant decide!

If it helps: I am repainting the truck with a black basecoat and green flake and blue flake in the clear.

I'm looking at getting the black ones for mine, eventually...

If you've got after market tails, you might want to match'em up as close as possible to those... (I've got smoked Altezza's on mine...)

I think either would work on your truck... just one will work better than the other, lol, I am partial to the black ones, though

I guess it depends on if you are keeping the same tails. If you are gonna switch them, then go with the black all the way around. I think that would look the best IMO. But at the same time I am partial to the chrome ones.

I like the black ones myself, but that's probably because I bought those SAME EXACT ones of eBay a few days ago.  I should have them by the end of the week.  I got them because I smashed up the whole front end of my Blazer and I have to get it fixed..

See you got the chrome ones. That's an awesome price for those. They'll look sick with the new paintjob. Can't wait to see how it comes out.

I had those ebay projectors on my 2-dr tahoe. They sucked at lighting up the road. The cut-off beam pissed me off on them. Get some HIDS in them.

black will match no matter what so if you decide to change the paint or any accents later, they'll always match and stand out

The projector part of those is apparently removable, according to the seller, which means you can bolt in a proper HID projector for the wicked light...

I just want to know if the high beam part works decently, lol

They are not HID projectors, no, they're halogen projectors, unless otherwise specified... The black ones, for sure are not... I emailed and asked about it, that's how I found out the projector part is removable (which is a GOOD thing!) HID's work best with an HID projector... They work good in stock housings, but they're basically a brighter halogen at that point, the actual quality of the light pattern is degraded compared to high quality halogens...

Unless you score an HID kit with the filimant in the proper orientation, then they'll work wicked good compared to the stock halogens

Proper filimant in the proper orientation?  Im new to the whole HID thing, I really want some but I want it to the right way.  Is there any good websites for this info?

Sorry to hijack the thread.

I see you did go with the chrome. I am not much of a chrome fan, but I am sure it will look fabulous on your truck. can't wait to see the new paint job, too!

Yeah I ended up with the chrome set. I figured I dont have alot of chrome in the first place and my tails are chrome, I'm changing the tails to Caddy's but I tricked the Caddy tails out a bit. I seperated the red lense from the housing and crafted a really nice clear lense for them and I decided to lightly chrome the inside of the housing and get rid of the stock bulbs for L.E.D.'s, so I'll post up pics of that when it is all finished up and I'm sure it will work properly. Anyway I liked the black ones but they just aren't going to match the rest of the truck when I get the repaint done. It's going to be too bright for such dark equipment.

BTW, I am selling the headlights and clear turn signals off my truck. Headlights are stock except for the '05 Envoy bulbs (wrecked at my bro's shop) I put in them when one of my headlights went out. The clear turn signals are brand new and have only been on for a few months. Take $60 plus shipping for the whole lot. I'll post this in the For Sale section too. Also I am looking to trade my Clear/Chrome Tails for a set of Clear/Black or Clear/Carbon Fiber Tails (for the time being til I get my Caddy tails installed).

The reason HID's don't work at their best in halogen light housings is partly because of the filament orientation...

If you look at your current headlights, the filament sits like this: -
With HID, it sits like this: |

There's some other stuff that might cause issues, I'm sure, but at the moment, I forget them or never knew them in the first place, lol
