At the moment, this is just a photo shop (hence the old tails still installed)

But once I have the money for a set of winter tires, or even replacement tires (I think I like the older rims better than the new ones...)

Thoughts, opinions, criticism, and other comments welcome! lol

I think they'll look wicked wrapped in 30s...

Hmm...  I wouldn't do it, but that's just me.  I love the look of the old rims on the 1st gens, but for some reason that just looks wrong to me.

they'll probably end up being my winter beater rims... mostly because I'm too lazy to shine 'em up anyway, lol

That's exactly what I would do with them.  They look OK, but not as good as the newer alloys IMO.

Not to beat a dead horse or anything, but I don't think they look right either, lol.

The rims from my '85 s10 might've looked not too bad... if they weren't 14", lol

I think they look not too bad.  It's the color of the wheels that don't work.

Well, they're going on one way or another, lol, I'll just have to decide which will work better... but I'll need to get a set of summer tires to go with it... the winter tires I want are 30s (29.3") and the summers are also 30s (29.2")

$1500 or so worth of tire right there, lol, plus the speedo calibration... whatever they charge for that...

You can change your speedo yourself if you have a Hypertech Power Programmer III...........

It's in the mail ;) lol

Unfortunately, no money for tires for awhile... But at least I get a little more oomph!

I have a GPS unit, and with my 30" tires I am off by under 1mph.  So if you don't want to have it reprogramed you don't have to.  But DRPerry I think a different color on those rims would look real good ( they are gold, right?).  Korey

They're more silver... just a little on the dirty side... At least, they look silver-ish, lol

And, I occasionally use my truck for work, so an accurate speedometer and odometer is and absolute requirement... But now that I've got me a Hypertech programmer, I'm not worried about it anymore!

I'd argue the fact thats its not always about looks, sometimes its  function

Not to mention I know how canadian winters kick ur trucks butt.

I'd rock em for sure if I had a nicer set i didnt wanna mess up.

I think 30" tires set me 1-2mph difference over 235's.

Yeah, something like 1% difference or something like that, I can't remember the exact number...
