well you can start with a new air filter i got a K&N, they can be bought at parts america or pep boys they are univeral fit. After that you can get a new exhaust system that will set you back a couple hundred of bucks for a good one, I 2.25" pipes going into a glaspack, loud as hell, but it rumbbles, you can get those at any good muffler shop. they will increase you HP a little but nothing hugh for that your going to need major work or invest in EDGE products. oh yea and hope you have gass money for the Huge HP you wanna add. 01 blazer LT. 4.3L V6, 30x9.5x15 mudders, 2in suspension lift and glasspack.

well, you can save up and get a nitrous kit thats probably going to be your best bang for your buck, and the newer systems have plenty of saftey features to keep you from blowing your engine up

Well, the msd ignition put a little pep in my engine, not much though, throttle body spacer adds noticeable gas mileage but not speed, im about to get a cheap air intake without the heat shield though, I want it more for the sound heh.... and of course don't forget exhaust.

How much would it cost to get a nitrous kit installed at a shop?

they quoted me $400. thats why i learned to do it myself. its pretty easy compared to building my own turbo set-up. just some wiring and thats about it. you'll want- window switch purge automatic bottle heater for accesories.

intake, exhaust, smaller lighter pulleys, better plugs and wires that's about it for the cheap hp gain but to do anything major you're talking paying money, nitrous isn't a bad way to go, but then you have to keep in mind that you have to get refills when it runs out.

go to Auto zone, there is an intake called a spectre, it is a modular system. buy a 11.5 inch filter, 3" coupler, a 3'' 60 degree elbow. The total should be around 70 bucks. Intalled it should look like this: http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t147/Eurogoldls/100_0224.jpg

No isolation from engine heat... The colder you can keep the incoming air, the more dense it will be, and the more efficient your engine will be. Having a cone air filter sucking in hot air is like shooting yourself in the foot.

Oh, sorry, my blazer has a scoop down below that ducts air to the front of the filter. It blastes air through the filter to cool it and give it more CFM.

What, did you cut a hole through the inner fender? It still is not as good as if it were isolated from the engine bay. I bet you would see a noticable decrease in your IAT readings if you were to enclose the filter in some kind of housing and duct air into it from either in front of the radiator or underneith away from any engine bay heat. *EDIT* - Oh and Euro, could you resize that pic down to around 640x480 to help those members without highspeed and/or huge monitors?

cut a hole? NEVER. I just unclipped the fender housing and run the 3'' duct between the rubber and the frame and sealed it with another peice of rubber that was cut to fita nd it clips into the holes that are already there.

quote:
ORIGINAL: blazinloud unless your planning on doing major engine mods.....its not worth the money. Use the saved cash to buy a vehicle meant for speed. I agree. Besides, you only need so much HP to go where you gotta go, any more and you'll just wrap it around a tree. Also, more HP costs more money in gas.
