No such thing as cheap hp, sorry.

Take out all your interior, except for guages and drivers seat... You'll accelerate better and have a better power to weight ratio.

No such thing as cheap hp, sorry. If hp was cheap....well never mind that.

Jrice791 -> RE: Cheap way to improve hp (2/22/2007 6:38:00 PM)

I am only in high school so there isnt too much money i have to work with
i wanted to know for the future b/c i plan to get a job this summer

drperry -> RE: Cheap way to improve hp (2/22/2007 6:40:44 PM)

Nothing's really cheap, it all depends on how much you want to gain, too.

Jrice791 -> RE: Cheap way to improve hp (2/22/2007 6:43:44 PM)

i can improve little by little so i was looking for ideas

drperry -> RE: Cheap way to improve hp (2/22/2007 6:47:03 PM)

Air filter, or cold air intake, a good exhaust system, those are the basic start points...

Jrice791 -> RE: Cheap way to improve hp (2/22/2007 6:48:20 PM)

thanks but i already have a vortec so do i need to get the intake?

drperry -> RE: Cheap way to improve hp (2/22/2007 6:56:01 PM)

I hope by "Vortec" you mean that's the engine itself, and NOT one of those useless fuel saver things...

Jrice791 -> RE: Cheap way to improve hp (2/22/2007 7:11:44 PM)

Yeah its the engine my bad i thought it was part of the intake b/c when i changed mt air filter i had to remove the covering
what is a good cold air intake to get?

drperry -> RE: Cheap way to improve hp (2/22/2007 7:15:59 PM)

If you search the site you'll find some good suggestions... I don't know off the top of my head, as I haven't been shopping for one just yet.

rabbit0102030 -> RE: Cheap way to improve hp (2/22/2007 7:16:40 PM)

Unless your getting a TRUE cold air intake, then don't bother. A TRUE c.a.i. will have it's own sealed off from the heat of the engine compartment box to draw in actual cold air. Volant, and Injen's tuned box with c.a.i. are good ones to start looking at. You need air, spark, and exhaust to make h.p., so don't think that adding a c.a.i. is gonna make a noticeable increase in hp all by itself.

blazinloud -> RE: Cheap way to improve hp (2/23/2007 3:34:46 PM)

unless your planning on doing major engine mods.....its not worth the money. Use the saved cash to buy a vehicle meant for speed.

2000BlazerSS -> RE: Cheap way to improve hp (2/23/2007 10:34:51 PM)

Blazinloud just posted and made the most sense of any I've read lately. Blazin' saying that will PO people, like the guy who wants to know how he can run 12-1 compression. The engine needs more than hundreds and hundreds of dollars to make ANY power.
