Picked up a 2dr S-10 Blazer model on e-bay about 4 months ago now and am trying to build it as close as possible to how I want my real life toy to look. Here's the progress so far: http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t193/NotoriousGLD/Model/Rims1.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t193/NotoriousGLD/Model/Frontfender.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t193/NotoriousGLD/Model/Profile.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t193/NotoriousGLD/Model/Rightfront3quarter.jpg Mods so far: Shaved door handles, gas door, roof ribs, moldings, mirrors, third brake light. 4" scale cowl hood, '94 Sonoma grille, flocked carpet, rear seat delete, tire carrier delete, 23" Phat Daddy rims, custom frame. Parts purchased but not on yet: Honeycomb grille ('powder coated' black), 11" vented rotors, 2.5" exhaust, true dual with 4 C6 style tips, C6 tailights molded into custom roll pan, step shaver, and this engine: http://www.scaledreams.com/_BORDERS/RGE402.JPG Finished off with Jet Black Pearl with a BOAT LOAD of clear for a mirror finish. Hey, if I can't pony up the dough for the real thing, might as well tinker around with this, no?

You're crazy. But I dig it. Nice ideas. I see that model building must be a hobby for you.

I wish I could find a first gen body style and turn it into an xmod.

Took out the model to get some more work done and here are the the results thus far: Thumbnail Image

I made spark plug wires out of individual phone line wires, melted some scale 3" pipe over a candle to make custom exhaust. As you can see, the engine is quite snug in that bay. All the rust colored stuff is Bondo glazing putty that will be sanded down in the very near future. Will keep ya updated!

That's so cool. I wish I had the patience for something like that. Also doesn't help that I have a toddler who would put the thing in his mouth and a nearly 5 year old that would run the wheels off testing it out on the kitchen floor.
