i have a 94 s-10 blazer that will not start and i am trying to narrow it down...

fuel pump relays are in the firewall directly in front of the steering wheel in the engine bay.... there are 2 relays that are identical to each other... one clicks when i turn on the key and the fuel pump goes on and off and the other does nothing... why are there 2 relays.... do they both need to be clicking...??

if i swap them, the fuel pump does not come on at all when i turn on the key... flip them back and the fuel pump comes on..but the car still will not start.

do they both need to be clicking.... 10 bucks each is better than 120 for the fuel pump and parts.... and 5 hours to drop a tank and swap a fuel pump (that comes on even though i am only getting 20-50 PSI fuel pressure with ignition on....

car wont start...

please help

thanks

Low fuel pressure may be it, I know the CFI is pretty touchy. I think you may be dropping a tank soon. I just did it a month ago and it sucked. Good luck man, I hope it's not the pump.

more and more troubleshooting is leading my to the back end of the truck..... i ahev replaced quite a few fuel pumps....but all the others have always just not worked... this one is coming on and giving fuel pressure, thats why i havent replaced it yet....

my instincts are screaming fuel pump..... my experience is saying that its not it....

if i go and replace the fuel pump and it isnt it.... i will be so pissed... just like anyone else that has spent money and not fix a problem...

Pretty sure your fuel pump needs to push between 55-60 psi. I think the Hanyes/Chilton books have the specs listed in them.

yeah... dropped the tank again,.,..the wire pulled out of the top of the sending unit...i had to cut the plastic part away a little bit and solder the wire back together...and then i lengthened the ground wires by about 8 inches....so they wont have tension again... and i also dfound out that the tank was pinching the fuel lines, so i went and bought a new 100psi fuel line and a 3/8 fuel line and re routed all the hoses so they wont get pinched...

everything works great.....
