I have a 93 Blazer with a 4.3 vortec.
Currently the engine is in pieces and in need of a rebuild. All the parts are withing tolerance, as I checked them.
I had sent the heads off for a rebuild as well as he block that needed a deck job. While I was at the shop the guy showed me an engine that he had pulled out of a 99 s-10.
It was also a 4.3 vortec, but it had a supercharger, and a custom computer with the complete engine harness for under the hood. Also included are a rear wheel drive tranny and a foll flow muffler. He had pulled it out and swapped it with a later 5.7 longblock.
I know that I can put the engine in without any problems and get the car to run with that engine, the problem that I am running into is that the computer is a chip modded 99, and will not hook up to the dash of the 93.
Am I going to have to rig up the outputs from the 99 PCM to the 93 dash?
Or will I have to get a 99 dash and rig that into the 93 I have now?

The only advice I have is that if it has vacuum lines, tag them and be careful with them. They break easily and if you don't know where to put them back, you'll need a proffesional mechanic to set it back right. Other than that, clean the engine really good before you put it back in.

Thanks...
I am a professional mechanic, I just haven't worked on this paticular model before...
But I will not be putting that engine in anyway.
