I have my repair manual that gives a step by step of changing out the heater core.  I was wondering if any of you have done it before and if there are any short cuts as it seems like I have to remove a large number of screws a couple of connectors and basically the entire dash.  Are there any tricks to make it easier? I have a 96 S10 with the 4.3L V6 if that helps.

The only trick is to accept that you do have to remove the entire dash, and you will probably never find an easier dash to remove!  Well actually the '98-2005 dashes in blazers are the easiest, but the '94-'97 is a close second.  Just don't try to loosen it and sneak things by, it's less time-consuming to just remove it...take your time and remember where each screw goes and the order in which you remove them...it will be a breeze.  If you do get into a jam...post up, I've had dozens of these out and It really is not bad.
