howdy everyone, i recently picked up a 89 s10 blazer, 4.3 4x4 2 door, fully loaded for a daily driver, to replace my current daily driver and give her a break a 87 camaro that i rebuilt from the ground up from a original v6 fi to a carbed 350, 3 inch cowl hood fuell z28 ground effects, mag wheels, etc, etc, list could go on and on, but anyways, ive been working on cars my whole life, but electronics are a wall for me,  so this 4.3 is tbi, she starts real hard, always has to crank of like 3-4 times, long tries, before she'll start, i know the plugs and wires are all good, i do however know the tbi unit has seen its better days but still operates half decent when running, my knowledge is old school stuff, the simplar days when fuel economy was for the old. she doesnt seem to wanna fire, my first thought is fuel, maybe a clogged up fuel filter, which ill check out tommorrow, any other ideas?

also ive been having a problem with the alternator charging the battery up, the battery got real low because of all the cranking, and the alternator will keep it at its current level but doesnt wanna charge it up, the battery and alternator both tested good, i have a new positive cable coming just incase but from the looks of the wire i dont think its the problem, i do see thou that theres quite a few wires spliced into the harness(factory) anyone know what these wires are, like i said im old school, u had 4 wires all together, a pos, ground, guage and hmm yeah having a brainfart what the wire is next to the votl guage right now, but anyways point is not near that many wires. any ideas on this, im going to see about picking up some wiring diagrams for this thing, but would like to get it on the road soon.

sounds like a fuel filter to me.....had a 90 s-10 4x4 4.3 that did the same thing, but when started would bog down under hard aceleration....new filter and tank after a good weekend of tearing stuff up 4-wheeling she did great......untill I found out S-10's dont float!!!!!!
