I like the gauges man. I want them, but right now its a slow time in the HVAC buisness and the only work I have lately is detailing the neighborhood cars, so I'm a bit short on money.

You'll have to get you an HVAC panel and healight control panel too.
I'm seeing aftermarket 4wd panels and Rear gate/wiper panels pop up every now an then too...  that woud finish it off nicely!

That looks sharp, did you just switch out the lights for blue ones or LEDs? I've been thinking of putting in white LEDs in my instrument cluster for that clean crisp look. How many bulbs are behind the guages?

depends on if you have a tach and it depends on whether its a canadian model. No tach has like 2 bulbs less than the Tach.  And the canadian has on more bulb than American.

Yeah, I only switched out the bulbs for LED's.

There was 6 of them...

As for changing out the rest of the lights, I think that's an entirely different job, as I think all the other panels have LED's in them, like the stereo, don't they?

Just curious what led's you need to do that mod with (voltage, size, etc) and secondly how exactly do they mount in the cluster (soldered to existing plug, clip off plug and solder wire to led, electrical tape?)

I just got standard 194 LED's

You just plug 'em into the socket.

Jetco brand 194 blue LED's

any 194 sized bulb will work for the cluster lights...

Don't have the packages anymore, so I don't know the part number, but like I said, any 194 sized light bulb/led will work...

Just hope that it's not polarity sensitive, lol, or that you get it right on the first shot...

edit: do NOT try to measure the voltage of the built in lights on things like the wiper switch panel... You blow the fuse...

Just do a search on ebay for em (i searched for 194 led). This apparently is a common replacement item so they have tons of them in all kinds of colors. Found a 10 pack for $11 shipped so they are really dirt cheap. Just ordered me a set.

no problem!

I've ordered more stuff, too... Gonna change all my dash stuff that I can, to blue... it's gonna be tediously annoying, but it'll look better, lol.

And here's an update on the dash conversion!

All that's left is the heater controls, which I found out is a bunch of little 37 sized bulbs, which will make it a lot easier than the headlight/4x4/wiper switches... Had to drill holes for the leds and such... Well, I didn't drill... I used a hot knife... lol.

The sun started coming up on the second pic, so it's a little harder to take a picture of the blue... At least in the wiper switch...

It's actually not that hard to do... The wiper controls was the easiest, lol...

You generally need two LED's per panel, just to get an even enough spread of light... It's a little cheapy incandescent bulb that's in there to start with... And the only one that's "removable" is the one for the headlight switch... The rest need... Enthusiastic measures to remove them, lol.

Do you just pop off the dash and access the panels from the back?

Pretty much... The instrument cluster is the easy part (and the heater controls, if you can find the bulbs in the right size...)

For the rest, you'll be making your own mounting holes for loose LED's to go into, and running power separately for them, unless you're skilled enough to solder on the circuit boards without damaging them...

And you'll have to take out the factory light, or else your color is going to look whitewashed.

I really like that.  I was looking and emailing companies that made the aftermarket gauge overlays to try and find out iof I could find some that cover all the panels with lights, but nobody is emailing me back.  How rude.  I know about the heater overlays that match my gauges.  I can't find the headlight switch overlay that matches mine, only with the flames like rabbit has.  I want to do mine in red.  I wil have to visit ebay tonight and get some of those bulbs.  Is there anything else I should know before I get in there and get dirty drperry.  I have no problem with using some enthusiastic measures lol.  I hope I can do this, it doesn't look to hard to do, and it looks great.
