I bought the blazer needing a motor, I'm going to pick one up saturday, so I should have it running early/mid next week. I'll probably install the system not this saturday, but next. Next spring I'm going to get all new equiment and start on the fiberglass work.

Around here its hard to find a rust free and straight 1st blazer, finally found one though... YAY!

Here in a few months I'll probably pick up an extra 4.3 and build it a bit (bore the block, cam, vortec heads, intake, etc.)

Thats about it I guess...

The Blazer looks really good. Especially compared to the body on my '91 (which also needs a new engine) You're right-you don't see too many older Blazers w/out rust here in the midwest.

Indeed it did...

Small update.

I bought a new/used motor today, picking it up tomorrow. I'm going to pull the heads and pan to check everything out, if every appears to be ok I'm going to send the heads off to have them redone, clean everything up, replace all the gaskets/seals and hopefully get it running this weekend. I'm going to leave the bottom end alone if everything feels/looks tight, because I plan to rebuild a spare block up over the winter so this motor only has to last until spring.

I bought the motor from a local junk yard, my family does a lot of buiness with the owner and he swears he heard the motor run and it sounded great, so I guess we'll see.

I know more tomorrow, wish me luck...

P.s, I didnt realize it was after midnight, so today is actually yesterday.
Also I'm insanely tired so this post might not make sense.

I picked up the new/used 4.3 today. Tomorrow I'm going to pull the intake, heads and oil pan to inspect things. If everything appears to be good I'm going to clean it all up and put it back together with new gaskets and seals. I also plan to replace the freeze plugs, valve seals, and maybe the valve guides depending on how the look. This is surpose to be a good running motor so I hope thats all I'm going to have to do. Blah, this motor only has to last until summer anyways.

Here are some pictures of the new and dirty motor.

I got a little bit done today. The motor is apart and looks to be in great conditon. The valve guides and seals needed to replaced so the heads are now at the machine shop getting completely redone, they'll be done wedesday. i'm going to replace all the seals, gaskets and freeze plugs then clean it up and stick it all back together. I hope to have it up and running next weekend.

Here are a few pictures.

The motor is so oilly because it was tip up side down and all around.

I got a little bit more done today. After I cleaned the motor up a bit I realized the motor has been bored out .30! I also picked up the heads from the machine shop today, they did a awesome job. Now I'm going to install a small cam, then put it back together.

Here are the pictures.
