Actually, the piece I had to cut was the rear radio support. It was about 1/2" too tall and was hitting the back of the Sony. Once I cut it down the Sony sat flush with the dash.

the 4x4 can pop out of the dash, and it is a plug.  the hatch release is just a plug, that you have to release from the drivers side of the plug.

oh, and btw, you dont need an interface.  if you had another harness that went into that black plug, then yes you do.  The standard 70-2003 harness will work just fine, and retain the RAP.

Thanks for letting me know,I still haven't gotten around to my own truck yet the screen is just sitting here,And I got the Jimmy in June LOL

But what was this all about if you had the RDS stock HU you have to get a interface to keep the RAP,I still going to use that 70-2003 harness and see if it works.

Thats what I always do most of the time anyways but just checking as I never have worked on a jimmy

To my quesion in the PM Sent you Rudy,I was just looking at the fuse panel again and saw this

19-radio/batt 15A clarion 15amp
24-radio/ign 10a

Also I know I probly have already talked this to death on the MSN last night with you,But when I use the Fuse tap or acc power I will LOSE the RAP right.I was talking another isntaller today and he said it will still be there IE power windows work but No radio will stay on unless the key is in the Acc/run postion.

This is correct right

if you tap the accessory, i believe that it will stay hot until you open your door.  grab your fluke and test it!

yeah, there's a few ACC wires in the harness I got... it took a couple tries to find the one that's tied into the RAP system, lol.

Hey again...

I saw the pics. on how to remove the radio on 98-> but is it similar to the 97?? Couldn''t find any link on the http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs/GM/PDF/460001.pdf ..? Just in the 98...

Any clue? This console to put your new stereo in where can you get a hold of that??
