Is this the marine intake you guys are always talking about, or was it a non-plastic plenum?

It is, but for a carb application.  There is also another one that has a 2brl flange.  But there were rumors of an aluminum upper plenum replacement for our plastic upper plenum.  Same form, fit, and function, but aluminum.  There is such a thing for the 5.7L vortec engine, but I have never seen it for the 4.3L.  I have seen a 4.3L marine engine setup with true MFI  with external fuel rails and injectors.

Sorry to burst your bubble...  One thing that can be done with the 2brl intake, and probably the 4brl one as well, is it could be machined and welded up for injector bosses and custom rails.  It shouldn't be all that difficult with an SCFI motor to make the transition so long as you use injectors with the same impedence as the stock injectors.  You could convert to Bosch type injectors with a higher lb/hr to support some pretty mean power levels.  Wiring would involve removing the stock injector pack plug, lengthening the wires and putting on the appropriate connectors for the injectors.  A tune wouldn't be absolutely necessary, but if you're contemplating doing this, you've got other plans that would require it for maximum benefit.

Nah, just thought I'd be a hero if I found the part you guys were drooling over.  No such luck!
