Who would be interested in a third brake light for your blazer/jimmy that has a clear or a smoked lense? Considering nobody makes a custom third for the blazer. All you can get is the stock light. So who would be interested? Putco has released a new Pure LED third brake light series. They come with a smoked or clear lense, and it is not available for the blazer. Why should we have to settle for the stock light? Putco needs to know that there will be an actual demand for this product before they will consider research and production. So, go to  Putco.com  and demand it!

I would be very interested in it. I have a vinyl overlay, and thats about the only thing out there... but a euro third brake light would be a lot better than the overlay!

I was just thinking about that today. I have clear corner headlights, turn signals, and tail lights and now im left with one big red strip across the back of my car. Ive never really fooled around it before, but now im thinking about making a clear lense for it.

This thread is a few months old, but has any one figured out if they are gonna make one or at least maybe do a group deal for us?

I went to pep-boys the other day to return the brake pads that broke and caused all four of my brakes to not work. Anywho, they have a company that they sell there that makes lights and grille inserts and stuff for suv's and trucks. They have a clear led 3rd brake light for a chevy for 80 bucks. I am going to get one soon and put it on and post pics. I will try and find it on pep-boys website and post it later.

I couldn't find anything, so I will snap a pic in store. I have to go anyway. I did find this though. It's fom jcwhitnet. You can get clear lens with any color led's in it.

click me

*UPDATE* The one at pep-boys is not a 3rd brake light for a blazer, it is for a pickup. BOO!

Check my photo gallery. I have a pic of it, but I recently peeled it off cause it got all discolored and crappy. I am not going to buy another as it only lasted not even a year.

Scratch that, I forgot I erased it. I think it might still be on my cardomain page though. Let me check and I'll throw you the link.

Yup, still there. Just click on the cardomain link in my sig and it will take you there.

As far as I am aware they have no intention of building one for our Blazers, unless they can be convinced of the demand for them. That is where you guys come in, I need votes, and I need you to contact the vendor throught the link I provided to request it. That is the only way we will ever see these made for our rides!

I sent them an email last week and I haven't gotten a response for it yet.  I emailed a few other companies too with no luck.

Yeah, they more than likely will not respond until they are ready to market, but they do have to file the emails somewhere and they keep tabs on requests for certain parts for certain vehicles, so we just need to fill the file up.

We need at least 200 votes before I can submit this to Putco to show a demand for the product. If you have not voted then please vote now if you are interested.

I bought one of those Ebay vinyl overlays last year, but I never got around to installing it.   Anyway, I just discovered last week that the 3rd brake light is out.  I'm betting there's a way to remove the lens yourself for an LED installation.  The next time I work on my truck, I'll add this to the list. If it can be done, I'll post pix.

By the way, I sent you a shoutout on CarDomain, Davtak.
