Well I just added 1.5" shackles and cranked the t-bars up 1" (drivers side) and 1.5" (passenger side) to level it out. So now theres no more rubbing. It looks pretty good now with the 2" BL. I also just added a brush guard that I ordered off ebay from accessories of america. I should have some pics by this weekend. I'm really happy now with the way it turned out and looks. Now I just need to order up some KC lights for the brush guard and I'll be good.

Sounds awesome, that is what I want to doto my truck so I would be very interested in seeing pics. I am just waiting till I coop this fall and will be living at home so I will have money to spend on the blazer at that point. I have been trying to figure out what I am going to do for about 6 months now and just am waiting on being at home to have the tools and space to work on it, the money, and the time to do it.

Should have pics by tomorrow. As for money, I understand that being the broke college student that I am. But so far its been pretty cheap to get my blazer to where its at.

Rims/ tires- $120 (bought used off a friend
2" Body lift- $125shipped off ebay (performance accesories)
1.5" shacles- $70shipped (synergy offroad)
brush guard- $270shipped off ebay
                  -----------------
                      $ 585total

which isn't to bad considering how much better my blazer looks. Plus when you buy a couple things here and there you don't feel like your spending a ton.

How hard was it to put that 2" body lift on?

Yeah, thats why I was wanting to go that route since it acheives what I want/think I need and it is cheap. I am definately wondering how hard it was to install the bodylift, as that is one thing I am not totally looking forward to. Also if you can get a pic of what the brushguard looks like with the body lift installed. Did you raise the mounting location for the brushguard like how the bumpers are rasied?? Thanks for all the help and keep up the good work.

The body lift wasn't hard at all. It took me a little longer than I wanted just because there were two bolts that wouldn't come out. All the other body mount bolts came right out except the two. I'd say it would have taken me about a good 4hrs of working to get it done. Instead it took like 8 because I spent about 2hrs on each bolt. This was also my first time doing a BL with just basic tools laying around the garage. Also had the same problems with the shackles. 3bolts came out ok and 1 took a couple hours before I just drilled out the whole bushing. I would also recommend replacing the bushings as long as your doing the shackles. Overall If you are mechanically inclined it shouldn't be a problem.

Did you have to do any mods to the gas filler tube either at where you fill up or at the tank? If so how hard was that? Yeah I was thinking I should replace the bushings when I do shackles anyhow. I thought about replacing all my bushings but I am not sure if I am going to do it.

Actually I didn't have to touch anything with the gas tank or filler neck. When I was researching it on here I heard you had to adjust it, but it didn't say anything in the instructions. So far I probably filled up my gas tank about 10times and haven't had a problem or any leaks.

Also as far as having a rock hard ride when raising the t-bars, I've put on about 30miles since I adjusted them and my ride feels the same. The roads are also in pretty good shape here so thats probably why, but it still rides about the same.

If the brush guard mounts like the hunter does it should move up with the bumper relocation brackets. I've been looking into it myself and i finally ordered a body lift yesterday from Jigg (synergy offroad). When i get it put on ill let ya know if i hit any snags. Shouldnt though i dont think. If i do, like i told lenny ill post up what ya need to make it work (brackets, bolts, etc).

Didn't have any problems mounting it. It mounts in two locations. One in the middle that attaches to the bumper and one at the bottom that attaches to the frame. The one that attaches to the frame attaches to the side of it and kinda pivits so it can be adjusted up or down.

Waiting for my sister to get home to use her camera for pics. Ill take some of how its mounted.

PICS!!!!  http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2669689/1  The first couple are with just a 2" BL and 31" tires. And the pics showing where the brush guard is mounted are at the very bottom. Let me know what you think.

OHHHH, ok. I know what brush guard that is. My buddy with a 98 2 door Blazer had the same one. That mounts very similarly like the way the hunter does, just different brackets. Lookin really nice man. Give me a week or so and I'll be right up there with ya.......just gotta get me some wheel spacers or new rims. Just curious, what backspacing you got on those rims. Just getting ideas for what size spacers i may need.

Thats cool. I got a good feeling where i want to be with my tires as it is and i can just take a tape measure to see how far i want my tires to stick out and get spacers based on that.

that doesnt mount like the hunter brush guard for 98+ blazers..... The 1996 bumper is held on by different brackets than the 1998+ models........ that is why most brush guars, push bars, and safari bars will either fit 94-97 models or 98+ and not both... I still think there will be clearance issues with the guard and a 2" bl on yours RCars..... you will probably have to fab something.... but I have confidence that you will figure out how to make it work... let us know how it goes and please prove me wrong because I would like to do the same thing with my blazer..lol

The reason I know they mount different is because my buddy has a 1995 blazer and we were gonna try to put my brush guard on his blazer because I was thinkin bout trading mine in. It wouldn't mount because the bumper bolts on to the truck in a different way/location...

APPLICATION:

Item #   GC-801

98- 04 Chevy S-10 (4 or 2 wheel drive)
98- 04 Chevy Blazer-S (4 or 2 wheel drive)
98- 04 GMC Jimmy (4 or 2 wheel drive)
98- 04 GMC Sonoma (4 or 2 wheel drive)
98- 01 GMC Envoy (4 or 2 wheel drive)
98- 01 Oldsmobile Bravada (4 or 2 wheel drive)
98- 04 Isuzu Hombre (4 or 2 wheel drive)

^ this is from hunters ebay add.... 98-04 only..... it is different than the pre-98 blazers.... the bumper, grille, headlights, etc.. bolt on a bit different... also check out westins website, there are different mounting kits and part numbers for 1998-04 blazers and pre-98 blazers..... RCars can make this fit because he works with metal, if you do not work with metal or cannot fab your own brackets, this may not work, so wait to spend your money until RCars figures out if it will work, and if it will not how you can make it work...

Thanks for the info a_tack. I don't have the money right now for a body lift or a brush guard so I will definately be waiting till fall to do anything + I might not even get a brush guard ( I would really like to though), so I am sure RCars2 will be done installing and fabing by then.

Good point there, the older ones use a different setup. However what i was referring to was that it was possible going on that the version for the 98+ mounts similarly to the hunter on the bumper mount if i remember right.......so it was a glimmer of hope, LOL. I still think i can pull this off and if not my trusty plasma torch and welder will see some action. I've been looking at some kit shots and instruction guides and im feeling pretty good that this will work and for one main reason. Click this link and look at instruction 10d and part number 151. Its just a simple plate and if anything all i gotta do is maybe drill one hole and pop a bolt and nut in. That should be it. Even at that im not certain thats even nessesary. But time will tell and im hoping im right. At any rate ill let you all know when i get it in which should be by the end of the week.

i see what ur talking about..... looks like it just might work with minor or no modification........... let me know how it goes and if the guard still mounts right above and below the bumper.... maybe you could snap alot of pics and do a little how-to on mounting a brush guard with a body lift, if you have to fab something.
