Okay, two months ago, I traded in my worn out POS 95 Blazer, for a MINT 98 Jimmy. 10 days ago, a drunk driver rear ended it(while it was PARKED), and totalled it. So all the damage is pretty much from the rear doors, back(his Mercedes tried to go under it, so all damage is low. No glass was broken(not even the back glass, which is AMAZING, given the extent of lower damage). Anyway, State Farm(his agent) wants $725 for it, and I've decided that I'm buying it back. I just bought a 2000 Blazer, so I want it for parts(some parts). I don't even have it home from the storage lot yet, and I'm still unsure about what I'm going to sell, and not. Definitely NOT selling the tranny, a/c compressor, alternator, starter, fuel pump, hub assemblies. Again, these aren't for sale. Here's what I'm fairly certain I am selling: Motor(126k) Runs like a dream. The Blazer I replaced this with only has 80k on it, so I'd be sitting on this motor for 6-7 years before I'd need it. That's too long, IMO). Complete doghouse, which is perfect, sold as one piece. Pewter in color. Rear end, with disc brakes on it. Light gray, power leather seats(I don't believe the rear seat frames are bent - we'll really have to pull them, to see. Front seats are fine); Center shifter console(light gray); Front doors(perfect); I think the rear doors are okay, but we can't get them to open(again, the Mercedes tried to drive under Jimmy, so the middle rear end area is kinda shoved upwards). That's all I can think of right now. It'll be a week or two before I get started, but you might contact me with any of your wish lists. Thanks, David Brown dBsound@bluemarble.net (I get a ton of spam, so make sure you type "Jimmy parts" in the subject line). Thumbnail Image

What would you want for the front and rear seats, can you post pics when you get the truck back? Where are you located, as shipping would be pretty expensive. Was it a 2dr or 4dr? Thanks.

Sorry that I forgot to list location. I'm in Bloomington, Indiana(1 hour south of Indy). So what do you think is fair, on all of this stuff, pricewise? I'm thinking 75% of what a junkyard charges. Is that too much? Anyway, I just called about a set of leather seats. They didn't have any right now, so I asked how much they usually go for. He said $250-350, depending on the condition. So, there's a little wear on the driver's seat(not bad wear, though), so I'm thinking $200 for all the seats. On the sun visors, I would bet they'll fit. I guess the best thing would be for me to post a pic of where it attaches. Again for all, interior is light gray. It is a 4 door. I should have it home tomorrow. I'll take some pics, and post em.

ORIGINAL: blazinloud willing to sell the front bumper? what color is the paint? I don't think so. The guys at the impound told me to never "separate sell" anything on the doghouse. To only sell it all as one(I'm assuming the bumper is included in the doghouse). It's pewter in color.

Are headlight assemblies are considered part of the doghouse, right? If so, I'd rather not separate any doghouse parts, unless I can't find a buyer for the whole thing. How do I tell which rear differential it is??? I can tell you that it has rear disk brakes(not that that answers the question. My mechanic said he'd never seen a Blazer/Jimmy with rear disk brakes). Also, there are now 5 pics attached to initial post. Sorry that you have to click on the attachments, I don't know how to make them instantly visible.

To determine what rear end in is there you would need to look up the rpo codes that are printed in the glove box. That should tell you what gearing is in there. You can decode them with this site Click As for if its 8.5 vs 7 5/8 look at the shape of the differential (or if you have pictures that works too). The 8.5 is pretty much round where the 7 5/8 is more square with round corners.

I saw no codes for the gear ratio, from the link. It's the rounded differential, though, so that's the 8.5, right?

Odd, normally its printed right there in the RPO's. Usually it starts with GU or GT. For example GU6 (what i have) is a 3.42, GT4 is a 3.73. As for the round diff, that is promising. Snag me a pic if ya get a chance.

I'm asking $950 on Craigslist, and have had a couple of people interested. Is that in the ballpark? Again, if your vehicle's pewter, you could bolt this on, and be done. I'm counting doghouse as hood, both fenders, grill, bumper, and headlight assemblies.
