I have a 1997 4wd blazer that i want to do a 5.7 swap into from my 4.3 vortec.  What all has to me modded for this to work?  I know i am going to need a different oil pan, but thats about it.  Im more concerned about things such as ECU, transmission, motor mounts, etc.  Any help is much appreciated!

If you get a Vortec 5.7L from a '97 Pickup, you can probably use the PCM and engine wiring harness in your application.  From there, you'll probably need an electric fan, modified motor mounts, and save up some money for a hipo tranny rebuild later on down the road.  Your trans should hold up so long as you aren't too brutal.

For more specifics, check out the book written by JTR.com.  They really don't have a large section on 2nd gen swaps, but they have a bunch of info that still applies.
